This thread shall be home to an RP started by myself and Indecisive (Who I shall from this point on reffer to as "Indy" cause I can) and is open for anyone else to join.

Althought this is a Sivoa RP, it does not take place in the same setting, or time period that the comic does. More information on this can be found here:

One of the benefits of being poor, working in a inn, and being good friends with the inn's owner was that for a slight doc in pay, you could stay in one of the rooms for free. However, dispite the fact that you live where you work, you can still be late because the alarm clock didn't wake you up in time.

This was Angel's situation.

"Oh No!"

This shout could be heard in the hallway, followed by some thumps, which were then followed by the sound only a door being opened in a hurry could make as a small sivoan went tearing through it. In a masterfully practiced display of grooming on the go, Angel ran down the hallway, used the elevators as a place to put on shoes and brush her hair, and then speed-walked professionally to the front desk on the first floor of the inn (where the tavern is).

She just finished clocking in (only 5 minutes late HAHA!) when she noticed that she was being observed by the new bartender... and quite a few other people.

How embarassing Angel thought, knowing well that her co-workers knew she slept in again. After a quick glance around though, she noticed that she couldn't find Judy - the bar's owner.

Taking this as some sort of blessing, she walked casually over to the bar (where the first bit of paper-work that she would need to fill out was stored) and asked the bartender if he saw the establishment's owner anywhere.

Being a veteran bartender in unknown territory was something that Abbot McCord could not grasp very easily. He was not much of a youngin’ in the world of bartending, already have about seven or so years of experience, but as Sivoa was now his new home, he still felt a tad awkward. The drinks here were different from the ones that we was used to serving, and now, Abbot felt that he was back at square one.

When Abbot first arrived at the tavern, there were a few patrons, but none came to him for a drink- which was a relief because he still wasn’t familiar with most of the new drinks he had to add to his already vast knowledge. He clocked in and headed straight for the bar itself. He began to wipe down the counter clean. One of the patrons he met a few days ago tapped on the counter in front of his vision and waved.

“Hi Bit!”

The bartender returned the salutation with a small wave and continued his task. While he was cleaning, he did not notice the heads were turning to the direction of the entrance only until a little later, when he saw
the one with seniority walk in professionally to the bar out of the corner of his eye. Bit expected that the head-turning was caused by her possible dramatic late entrance. He continued to wipe down the counter. Bit did not hear her casually walk to the bar, and only noticed her when her shadow was on the counter top. He looked up at the late one .

His eyes saw every movement of his co-worker’s lips and his brain translated each movement to a sound he had learned as a child. Bit first shook his head, realized that Angel did not see it he instead simply:

“No, I haven’t seen her today.” His voice having a notable lisp, his accent equivalent to one from Britain.

He bit his lip- this was his first official day working, as the other days were his interviews, and he was hoping for a neutral reaction to his disability lisp.

To say that Angel looked relived when she heard the news of her boss not being around would be the understatement of the year. She in fact had become totally giddy with the news and danced her way behind the counter where a nice fat stack of paperwork awaited her... and her spirits dropped a little.

"Ugh... that's going to take forever..." She mumbled under her breath and opened the envelope that had the word instructions written on the top.

Inside it was a strange electronic device and a note from Judy. Apparently the tiny gizmo was supposed to be a universal translator that she was supposed to give to Mr. Abbot McCord, so that he wouldn't have to worry about the strange languages and dialects that come in through the port.

Angel stared at the device in disgust. She knew that there was no way that this little electronic pulsing pieces of crap would never be able to broadcast anything to him let alone translate. Judy was just being cheap... again. The small short-haired Sivoan tossed the device in the trash and looked at her bracelet with a heavy sigh.

She had saved up long for a magic talisman that would permanently keep up the translation spell that everyone in the Sivoan service industry memorized as soon as possible. She wasn't looking forward to having to chant that again, but the note reminded her that Bit was deaf and would not be able to learn the spell properly.

After about ten minutes of trying to figure out if she should dig the little machine out of the trash or not, she tapped him on the shoulder and held out her bracelet to him.

"Here." was all she said as she knew that he would understand what it was the second that he touched it.

She wondered for a moment if he would see subtitles under everyone that spoke since he couldn't hear, but she somehow doubted it and thus didn't push the question and instead just waited patiently.

Bit looked up in surprise at what Angel was holding up.

“What is it?”

One of his hands took it gently from Angel’s hands and instantly, he knew that this bracelet would allow him to understand everything. He sensed a strong force of magic within it while he held the cool metal in his hands. Bit put on the bracelet and looked at two of the patrons that were a fair distance away. Although the language was not English that they were speaking, he knew what they were saying. The bracelet had somehow made him understand foreign languages by aiding his eyes to translate every word that he lip read into English.
He turned back to Angel and took one of her hand and clasped both of his on top.

“Thank you so much!” he exclaimed, giving a wide smile.
His smiled faded a bit when he had a sudden thought.

“Was this yours?” was the question that was asked. He glanced at the mirror for a quick second to see if anyone else was arriving.

Angel had no way of knowing what his reaction to the bracelet would be and nearly fell over backwards when he jumped up and took her hand. She Could tell that he was excited, but she could only vaguely understand the broken sound that escaped his lips.

The second that he paused and began to build himself up to ask a question, she rapidly chanted a translation spell, similar to that which was on the little piece of jewelry. Just in time to for all she caught was the last word of his question.

"Uhh... Yeah. It was mine. Don't worry about it though. I can make do without it."

She smiled and shifted the paperwork in her hands.

"Don't worry about it. I'll take it up with Judy to get me another one. For now it's best that you have it because that thing," she pointed at the device she threw away, "is a piece of junk and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone."

The skinny Sivoan turned to lean with her back on the bar and glanced at the days schedule of events. Rapidly her smile melted into a frown and she muttered under her breath.

"Oh no..."
